Across Sussex County and beyond, communities will gather for candlelight ceremonies, memorial services, and a special flag salute at Bethany Beach. As we reflect on the courage of that day and the selflessness that followed, we stand together in remembrance, reverence, and action.

Delaware’s Office of Highway Safety is celebrating the success of its Sober Rides program, which gave 700 residents safe rides home, and gearing up for the Labor Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Delaware veterans will soon have a stronger voice in state government. Gov. Matt Meyer signed a bipartisan bill creating a new Department of Veterans Affairs, sponsored by Rep. Danny Short (R-Seaford) and Rep. Bill Carson (D-Smyrna).
