The deadline to file as a candidate for the 2026 Sussex County School Board elections is March 6 at 4:30 p.m., with Election Day set for May 12. Several districts, including Cape Henlopen, Delmar, Laurel, Milford, Seaford, and Woodbridge, have seats up this year. If you care about the future of local education, now is the time to step up, get informed, and get involved.

The Indian River School District will hold a current expense referendum to raise funding for operating costs and staff.

In addition to the upcoming referendum, IR residents will also have the opportunity to vote for school board members on May 13, 2025.
