On Wednesday, July 24, Republican voters in Sussex County had the chance to hear directly from the candidates running to fill the vacant 20th District seat in the Delaware House of Representatives. The special election forum—hosted by the Sussex League of Women Voters in Lewes—was broadcast live on WGMD 92.7 FM, The Talk of Delmarva, and streamed via SoundCloud.
The seat was previously held by State Rep. Stell Parker Selby, who resigned on June 24 following a severe stroke she suffered in December—just weeks after her November reelection. Parker Selby did not cast a single vote during the 2024 legislative session, prompting significant public discussion about her health, her legislative role, and calls from fellow lawmakers urging her to step down.

Nikki Miller, the Republican candidate in the special election for House District 20, made it clear during the forum that she’s ready to bring common-sense, conservative leadership to Dover.
A proud Sussex County native, small business owner, and long-time community advocate, Nikki stands for:
Protecting parental rights in education
Supporting law enforcement and first responders
Fighting tax hikes and government overreach
Defending the Constitution and individual liberty
Nikki isn’t running to play politics—she’s running to serve the people and put Delaware back on the right track. She’s not afraid to speak the truth and stand up for Republican values.
While the election is specific to the 20th District, the outcome impacts us all—and Republicans across Sussex County, including the 39th District, have a vested interest in keeping Delaware’s House red. This special election is a key moment in the battle—A strong Republican win in the 20th District builds momentum for the entire county heading into 2026.
Let’s stay informed, stay united, and stay engaged—because every race matters, every vote counts, and Delaware needs conservative leadership now more than ever.
