Before cars begin traveling along the new North Millsboro Bypass, the community is invited to take part in a special event to walk, run, and bike this brand-new stretch of roadway. The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is hosting a Charity 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., with all proceeds benefiting the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
Supporting a Great Cause
The B+ Foundation is dedicated to helping children with cancer and their families while also funding vital research for childhood cancer cures. Participating in this event not only gives residents the unique chance to explore the bypass before it officially opens to traffic but also supports an important mission.

About the North Millsboro Bypass
The North Millsboro Bypass project began in March 2023 and is scheduled to open to traffic in late September 2025. The project features:
A two-lane, 2.8-mile connector road between US 113 and SR 24, north of Millsboro
A separated multi-use trail for pedestrians and cyclists
A new alignment spanning Fox Run Road, the Norfolk Southern Railroad, Millsboro Pond, and Gravel Hill Road, connecting to SR 24 west of Mountaire Farms
This new bypass is expected to ease traffic congestion in the Millsboro area and improve connectivity for both local residents and regional travelers.
