March 11, 2026 | Hilton Wilmington/Christiana | Newark, Delaware
As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding, the Caesar Rodney Institute is hosting a special evening event that brings together voices from five generations to reflect on the meaning of the Constitution across American history.
While this event is being held in Newark, it carries important relevance for residents here in Western Sussex County — including Seaford, Blades, Laurel, Bridgeville, Bethel, Cross Keys, and Portsville.
Why This Conversation Matters
What does the Constitution mean to those who lived through World War II, the Cold War, the Civil Rights era, 9/11, or today’s digital age?
A Generational Conversation: America, Then & Now gathers representatives from:
The Silent Generation
Baby Boomers
Generation X
Millennials
Generation Z
Together, they will reflect on how America’s founding principles were taught, interpreted, tested, and carried forward during their lifetimes.
Spanning nearly a century of lived experience, this moderated dialogue explores both continuity and change — examining how one constitutional framework has guided Americans through dramatically different cultural and political eras.

Although this particular event is not being held in our districts, we encourage residents who are able to attend to consider making the trip north. Events like this provide an opportunity for thoughtful, civil dialogue about America’s founding principles — something that benefits communities statewide and is FREE for students with student ID.
We also believe conversations like this should be accessible to students and families here in Western Sussex County.
