Delaware’s Holiday Parade Season Kicks Off: Seaford’s “Candyland Christmas” Parade Takes Center Stage

From the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to festive hometown processions lighting up communities across Delaware, the holiday parade season is officially here. Families are gathering, floats are dazzling, and towns everywhere are celebrating the magic of the season. One of the most anticipated events on the Delmarva Peninsula is the Seaford Christmas Parade, returning on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 7:00 PM—and this year’s theme promises to be the sweetest yet: “Candyland Christmas.”
A Candy-Coated Christmas Tradition
The Seaford Christmas Parade transforms the town into a holiday wonderland, and this year’s Candyland theme invites participants to get creative with gumdrop garlands, peppermint swirls, gingerbread characters, and sugary sparkle. Expect bright colors, whimsical floats, marching bands, dancers, and community groups bringing the theme to life in joyful, imaginative ways.
Adding to the excitement, Bill Bennett, beloved Seaford native, will serve as the Grand Marshal, leading the parade with hometown pride.

The parade begins promptly at 7:00 PM—and Seaford means sharp!
Route:
Starts at Nylon Boulevard
Continues down Pennsylvania Avenue
Turns left on High Street
Continues to Market Street
Crosses Stein Highway
Ends near Seaford Middle School
Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure their viewing spots, enjoy the holiday atmosphere, and support local vendors.

Can’t attend in person? No problem!The parade will be televised on TV Delmarva (Channel 33.1) and live-streamed on their website and Facebook page, making it easy for friends and family near and far to join the celebration.
Rules & Important Info for Participants
Whether you’re a community organization, church group, local business, performer, or marching unit, the Seaford Christmas Parade has important guidelines to follow:
Registration
Pre-registration required for all entries
Deadline: Monday, December 1, 2025, at 4:00 PM
Check-in begins at 5:00 PM at Nanticoke Senior Center (via Sussex Ave → Locust St)
Decorations & Music
Every entry must be decorated—all vehicles, floats, or units
Only Christmas music is allowed
Bands are permitted a 5-minute performance in front of the judges’ stand at Mt. Olivet
Judging
Special category judging begins during lineup at 6:00 PM
Trophy winners will be posted online and can be picked up at Beauty & Grace Salon, 224 High Street, through December 31st
Safety & Regulations
No alcohol or drugs
No throwing candy from floats—walkers only may distribute candy
All city ordinances and traffic control personnel must be obeyed
Vendors must pay a $25 vendor fee and be approved by parade coordinator Alice Adkins (443-786-3968)
