The Sussex County Republican Committee will host an important guest speaker at its Monday, January 12, 2026 meeting—Jeff Hague of the Delaware State Sportsmen’s Association (DSSA).

Legislation affecting firearm ownership, permitting, and registration does not stop at district lines. Decisions made in Dover impact every law-abiding gun owner, hunter, sportsman, and family in Sussex County—including those of us in the 39th District.

When the General Assembly reconvenes in January, Delaware Democrats are expected to introduce legislation that would establish a gun registry through a permit-to-purchase framework. History has shown—both nationally and internationally—that registration is often the first step toward further restrictions on lawful ownership.

If the 39th District is not present, our voices, concerns, and values are not represented.
