Seaford Now Accepting Candidates for 2026 Municipal Election

The City of Seaford has officially opened the filing period for the 2026 Municipal Election, scheduled for April 18, 2026. Residents interested in serving their community have the opportunity to run for Mayor (2-year term) or City Council (3-year term).
The deadline to file candidacy is February 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
How to Register
Candidates must complete registration at Seaford City Hall, 414 High Street. Registration hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Appointments are available for those unable to register during regular business hours.

Candidate Qualifications
To be eligible, a candidate must:
Be a bona fide U.S. citizen
Have been a Seaford resident for at least one year
Be at least 18 years of age
Be current on all city taxes and non-delinquent for at least one year
Not have been convicted of a felony
